Say goodbye to Amateur Landlords!

Say goodbye to Amateur Landlords!

The Government announces new plans for a minimum three-year rental contract aimed at giving tenants greater security which could backfire as amateur landlords lose the will to let.

Decoding what this means for you…

‘The specifics from the announcement were that the government doesn’t like amateurs and the latest ‘attack’ is over tenancy length. Amateurs want it as short as possible but the government are considering the 3 year tenancy. For professionals who hold a stock of housing for business the 3 year tenancy is a good thing because we all know it’s the change over that’s the most expensive time in a business – so we want long tenancies. Amateurs want it short term because they’re scared of tenants.’ – Gill Fielding, Property Investing Professional
