Housing Shortage in Reading

I was interested to read this morning that Reading Council have allocated £44 million to building 116 new homes in 4 sites. And I commend that, and it’s wonderful.

However let’s put it into perspective. Reading currently have more than 3,800 people on their council house waiting list. And there’s the size of the challenge.

For every 116 built – there are still 3,684 who won’t be satisfied (even IF all the properties eventually go to council list tenants).

When councils, governments and housing associations more restricted in funds available, our property market relies increasingly on the individual property investor fulfilling demand. It’s a tough and steep hill to climb but everyone deserves a safe and suitable roof over their head and it sup to us all to help make that happen.

Help to fill the remaining demand by learning how to become a landlord with our online course.
