The Miracle Morning

by Hal Elrod

What’s it all about?

Hal Elrod’s book has the subtitle of “The Not So Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life (Before 8AM)” Much like many other books The Miracle Morning aims to change your life by giving you more energy, motivation, and focus by having a morning routine which Elrod lays out for readers in his book. His claim is that if we change our morning routine then we can accomplish much more throughout our day such as adding in exercise. The book itself is easy to read/understand. Elrod utilises a lot of quotes from other writers, which to me says he did his research before presenting his ideas.

How has it helped me?

I loved reading this book and am eager to try to begin my new routine, but I admit I struggle with it because I am far from a morning person, I like to sleep! I need to give myself more discipline and make sure I change my morning routine. It has given me numerous ideas that I want to try, and I have a list of goals I want to achieve in the morning before 8AM, if I could only get myself out of bed to do! I think one of the reasons a plan like this works is that you get up early enough to give yourself enough time to do things like meditation, have a hearty breakfast, exercise or write the great American novel. I am eager to try this process and am working on a plan of action to make it work for myself.

Why should you read it?

If personal and spiritual growth is something you are hoping to achieve then this is a book that needs to be on your book shelf. When you pair it with another book like The Magic of Thinking Big by David J Shwartz, you can accomplish anything and see a difference in your life and an increase in motivation.
